Moritz is a doctoral candidate at MARE-Madeira and the University of Lisbon. With the support of a “la Caixa” INPhINIT doctoral fellowship he is studying the spatial ecology of marine megafauna in the Northeast Atlantic using ecological modelling. In his doctoral thesis he is aiming to find insights into habitat preferences and ecological niches of marine megafauna. Moritz holds a MSc in Marine Biological Resources from Ghent University and is the former lab manager of the Functional Ecology lab at the Gulbenkian Institute of Science.
