For her PhD, she investigated the occurrence of marine apex predators and how they are impacted by anthropogenic pressures in a remote, insular habitat.

As a post-doctoral researcher, she maintains her broad interest in anthropogenic impacts on marine predator movement ecology and continues to work closely with local and international stakeholders to promote their conservation.

Ashlie also has a MSc in Marine Science and Engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudia Arabia and a BSc (Hons) from the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) in the UK.
