Sara has a PhD in Social Sustainability and Development from the University of Aberta. Her research interests are in the role of education in curbing the rise of marine litter and increasing the awareness of marine litter issues among Madeira's inhabitants. Sara also has a BSc in Biochemistry and a MSc in Applied Biochemistry, both from the University of Minho.
