Sara is a PhD candidate in Social Sustainability and Development at the University of Aberta. Her research is exploring the role of education in curbing the rise of marine litter and increasing the awareness of marine litter issues among Madeira's inhabitants. Sara has a BSc in Biochemistry and a MSc in Applied Biochemistry, both from the University of Minho.
