Tim Hartmann
PhD Student
Tim is a PhD Student at MARE-Madeira and the University of Madeira, funded by the ARDITI Doctoral research grant, and is researching marine non-indigenous species. His PhD project involves understanding the most invasive species by studying their current distribution and identifying the main driver shaping their proliferation. He holds a BSc in Biology from the University of Bonn (Germany) and an MSc in Marine and Coastal Systems from the University of Algarve (Portugal), where he specialised in marine ecology and bioinvasions. His Master’s thesis assessed the impact of invasive macroalgae on benthic communities in Ria Formosa.
