
Cecilia Bernasconi
Research Technician
Cecilia is a Research Technician at MARE-Madeira, where she is mainly involved in the CircularOcean and Free-LitterAT projects. These initiatives are dedicated to developing innovative methods for monitoring and reducing marine litter within Atlantic coastal communities. With a foundation in Biology, Cecilia holds a Master's degree in Marine Biology and Ecology from the University of Genoa, Italy. Her master's thesis focused on understanding benthic assemblages in Mediterranean coralligenous semi-dark areas. Cecilia initially joined the MARE-Madeira team through an internship, contributing to the CLIMAREST project, focusing on the restoration of macroalgae and benthic analysis.
