PhD Student at the University of Rhode Island, Department of Ocean Engineering

Katie received her bachelor's and masters degree in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Ocean Engineering under Dr. Brennan Phillips in the Undersea Robotics and Imaging Laboratory at the University of Rhode Island. Her research focuses on deploying and using fiber optic cables for distributed sensing. She has conducted fieldwork in Bermuda and the Pacific Ocean. She also has extensive experience in robotics. During her free time, she enjoys sailing and exploring new areas.
