Patrício has been with MARE-Madeira (and the Canning-Clode Marine Lab before that) since its very beginnings. He has a BSc in Marine and Freshwater Biology from the Queen Mary University of London and formerly participated in GAME (Global Approach by Modular Experiments) at the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel. His research interests span marine fouling communities, biological invasions by non-indigenous species and marine ecology. He is responsible for the MARE-Madeira Laboratory & MOSS (Marine Organisms Stress Simulator system).
