Rui Seabra

Rui Seabra is a marine biologist and researcher at CIBIO-BIOPOLIS (Portugal). Rui studies the thermal landscapes of rocky shores worldwide and how environmental complexity drives species’ distributions and vulnerability to Global Warming. He is the co-leader of the CCTBON, a network that will monitor temperature and biodiversity patterns on hundreds of rocky shores across the entire Atlantic. Rui is also an expert in drowning prevention and co-founder of ElectricBlue.eu, a tech co-op developing environmental monitoring and bio-logging instruments.

Rui will be presenting 'Widening environmental monitoring networks - more sites, during longer periods, and in harsher habitats' at the MAD-Deep Symposium.
