MAD-Deep, the Madeira Deep-Sea Symposium, was held on 18 & 19 December 2023 at Colégio dos Jesuitas in Funchal, Madeira. This open event was designed to build partnerships, share experience and learn from deep-sea experts, non-profits, government and the local community with the aim of advancing deep-sea research in Madeira. The event was free of charge and welcomed all members of the public, of any age or scientific knowledge to take part.
